WHAT YOU CAN'T SEND

There are some obvious things that you cannot send with DHL
(animals, illegal substances, guns and explosives for instance).
But there are also less obvious items that we can’t transport
such as perfume,cash and jewellery with a value in excess
of £5,000.

Prohibited Items:DHL shall not be liable in the event that you have shipped any prohibited items as displayed in-store. If your parcel contains a prohibited item, it may be delayed and you may be contacted by DHL. To view a list of prohibited items please click here. Taxes & Duty: Some International parcels may have taxes or duty levied by local customs authorities. If so, the recipient will be required to pay such taxes or duty prior to, on or after delivery.

Terms & Conditions: DHL standard Terms and Conditions of Carriage apply.

Liability: DHL’s liability in respect of any one Shipment transported is limited to its actual cash value and shall not exceed:

  • $US 25.00/kilogram or $US 11.34/lb for Shipments transported by air or other non-road mode of transportation; or
  • $US 12.00/kilogram or $US 5.44 /lb for Shipments transported by road.

Insurance: Additional Insurance is not available at all Service Point locations; please check with your local Service Point for availability or call Customer Services on 0844 248 0844. Insurance is calculated at £12 for items worth up to £800 in value or at 1.5% of the total value of the item if greater than £800. If Insurance is not accepted or is not available then DHL’s standard Liability applies as outlined above.

Transit Times & Tracking: Transit times are a guide only and are not guaranteed. All times quoted are in working days; weekends and Bank holidays are not transit days.Tracking information for any parcel will not be available until the Shipment is collected from the Service Point by a DHL courier.
